Lincoln Weekend Flight

This is a fully catered (accommodation and all meals) guided tour for all flying and other activities as detailed below. Self-Drive.

 

Day 1 — Friday

Let's fly — a ticket for take off!

10:00 : Check in at Lincoln Cottages.
11:00 : Arrive at Pietermaritzburg Aero Club. Learn to fly Cessna – 172, one of the world’s most versatile training aircraft. Flight Briefing in preparation for flying training. Meet Telani, the Chief Flying Instructor (C.F.I.) of Pietermaritzburg Aero Club who will guide and prepare you for the essential knowledge needed for your intensive flying training. Now is a good time to ask as many questions as possible concerning your experience aloft — not for the faint of heart!
11:45 : Flying training commences.

Break away from flying – GO! GO! GO! - Go-Kart racing at Liberty Midlands Mall.
Lunch at Pietermaritzburg Aero Club, travel back to Lincoln cottages for afternoon at leisure.
16:15 : Pietermaritzburg Aero Club for debriefing and meet Chairman for sundowners.
18:00 : Dinner at Lincoln Cottages

 

Day 2 — Saturday

Are you ready to fly light? Microlight flying!

07:15 : Breakfast at Lincoln Cottages
08:15 : Depart for World of Wings, Micro Light flying school.
09:45 : Arrive at World of Wings flying Club. Meet Noel McDonogh your instructor for flying training on the versatile Micro Light aircraft, experience exhilarating wave-top flying and flight over beaches and spectacular views of Umkomaas River valley. Visit Clanstal Beach walk along beach and admire pristine seas and green coastal belt. Optional visit to Scottburgh beach for a quick swim in the Indian Ocean.
12:15 : Lunch at World of Wings.
13:45 : Arrive at Virginia airport for an exhilarating Helicopter flight via the scenic Umgeni River valley.

Destination - PheZulu Safari Park Cultural Village, situated in the heart of the Valley of a 1000 Hills.
14:30 : PheZulu Village. Experience traditional Zulu dancing and a one-hour Game Drive in an open air Safari vehicle. Enjoy a refreshing drink before boarding the Safari Vehicle. Marvel at the prolific wild life, including Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest and many species of Antelope. En–route home, follow the world famous Comrades Marathon route, which includes a stop at the Comrades Marathon Wall of Honour.

18:45 : Dinner at Lincoln Cottages.

 

Day 3 — Sunday

Smooth Gliding!

06:00 : Breakfast at Lincoln Cottages
07:30 – 12:30 : Gliding at Howick, meet Tex Impey who will instruct you on the techniques of flying a Glider while gliding effortlessly over the Howick Waterfall and Midmar Dam. Visit the nearby Midmar Dam and Nature reserve.
13:00 : Afternoon – Picnic lunch at Midmar dam recreational area.
13:45 : Time to say fond farewells from us at the Lincoln Aviator.
Take a group photograph as we bid farewell to our new friends. Prepare to return.
